Love & Friendship

The most important thing is to be capable of loving.

Love places its center in the axis of the universal whole. Love aims at unity.

Love, the strongest and deepest element in all lives, the harbinger of hope, of joy, of ecstasy; love, the defier of all laws, of all conventions, the freest, the most powerful molder of human destiny.

And in the development of mankind as a whole, just as in individuals, love alone acts as the civilizing factor in the sense that it brings a change from egoism to altruism.

The great tragedy of life is not that men perish, but that they cease to love.

Love works its magic on the living, but not the dead.

Love is worth more than intelligence.

An ounce of love is worth a pound of knowledge.

To set a price on love is to devalue the priceless.

Seek not every quality in one individual.

Do not forget small kindnesses, and do not remember small faults.

Without a true friend a person cannot discern the errors of their own actions.

Love, like a cough, cannot be hidden.

Science and technology has made the world a neighborhood, but it will take love to make the world a brotherhood, a sisterhood, a community of peace with justice.

Life is a journey, and love is what makes that journey worthwhile.

It is better to have loved and lost than to never have loved at all.
